HAO Jiming, professor of environmental engineering at Tsinghua University, Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering. His major research interests are energy and the environment, and air pollution control. Prof. HAO led the designation of China’s Acid Rain Control Area and SO2 Emission Control Area, developed the “Vehicle-Fuel-Road” control strategies and narrowed the gap in vehicle emission control between China and international level.

He also developed “Scientific understanding-Precise source apportionment-Highly effective control” technology framework of combined air pollution, leading the development and implementation of theories, strategies and measures in air pollution control in China.

He completed major consulting researches which presented important references for air quality improvement in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Yangtze River Delta regions. Prof. HAO has won several national awards in the past decades, including 5 national scientific and technological rewards, 2 first prizes on the national teaching achievements, and national teaching masters award.
