Mei-Po Kwan, Choh-Ming Li Professor of Geography and Resource Management and Director of the Institute of Space and Earth Information Science at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
She is currently the associate editor of Travel Behaviour and Society and the member of editorial boards of 11 major academic journals. Prof. Kwan is the Fellow of the U.K. Academy of Social Sciences, and the winner of John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. She is also the fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), American Association of Geographers (AAG) and Royal Geographical Society of U.K.
She has received many prestigious honors and awards for her breakthrough contributions to the research on the environment and health, human mobility, transportation and urban issues, and geographic information science, including American Association of Geographers' Outstanding Academic Achievement Award and the Stanley Brunn Geographic Creativity Award, the Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award of the American University of Geographic Information Sciences Committee and the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award of the International Chinese Geographic Information Science Association.
