From June 27 to 28, 2026, the symposium on "Research on the Talent Cultivation Model for AI Intelligent Engineers," hosted by the ICEE Future Science and Technology Education Base, was held at Tsinghua University. The symposium was academically guided by the UNESCO International Centre for Engineering Education (ICEE), and aimed to explore in depth new models and pathways for cultivating engineering talent in the age of artificial intelligence.
Zhang Bo, Honorary Dean of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence at Tsinghua University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Wang Sunyu, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of ICEE and Professor at the School of Education of Tsinghua University; Shen Ye, Assistant to the Secretary-General of ICEE and Secretary-General of the Global Partnership Committee; and Yang Lei, Executive Dean of the Qingzhan Institute of Artificial Intelligence, attended the symposium. Liu Binli, Director of the ICEE Future Science and Technology Education Base, chaired the symposium.
Wang Sunyu gave a brief introduction to the ICEE. He stated that against the backdrop of the rapid iteration of artificial intelligence technology worldwide, engineering education is facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges, and expressed hope that everyone would work together to explore a future-oriented talent cultivation system for AI intelligent engineers.

Wang Sunyu's Remarks
Zhang Bo delivered a keynote report titled "The Artificial Intelligence Industry," systematically reviewing the frontier directions of artificial intelligence and pointing out that the cultivation of AI intelligent engineers should focus on shaping both a solid theoretical foundation and innovative thinking.
Yang Lei delivered a keynote report titled "The New Industrial Revolution Driven by AI," systematically explaining how artificial intelligence is driving the historic transformation of China's manufacturing industry from a "manufacturing giant" toward a "manufacturing power."

Yang Lei Delivers Keynote Report
Shen Ye gave a keynote presentation titled "Exploring Organizational Development and Leadership in the AI Era." Through group discussions, she guided participants to think about the leadership framework for engineering talent in the context of AI from an assessment-dimension perspective. The group discussions were lively, generating many constructive viewpoints and suggestions.

Shen Ye Delivers Keynote Report
Approximately 20 industry representatives and technical experts from the corporate sector attended the symposium. This meeting represented an exploration by the ICEE Future Science and Technology Education Base, under the academic guidance of the ICEE, of integrating industry-education integration talent cultivation programs with AI engineering education. It marked an important step forward for the Base in its research on the cultivation of AI intelligent engineering talent and the competency model for senior AI engineering leadership talent.
