Peng Jian is a Boya Distinguished Professor and doctoral supervisor at Peking University, and the Chief Scientist of a National Key Research and Development Program project. He mainly engages in research on the coupling of landscape pattern and social-ecological processes. He has been awarded the Young Scientist Award by the Chinese Geographical Society and the Chinese Society of Ecology. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Chinese Chapter of the International Association for Landscape Ecology, the Director of the Landscape Ecology Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Ecology, the Secretary-General of the Academic Work Committee of the Chinese Geographical Society, the Co-editor- in-chief of Applied Geography, the Subject Editor of Progress in Physical Geography, and a member of the editorial board for journals such as Landscape Ecology, Landscape and Urban Planning, Ecosystem Services, Acta Ecologica Sinica, Economic Geography, and Tropical Geography.
