Zhuang Weimin, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, winner of Liang Sicheng Architecture Prize, has acquired the title of National Engineering Survey and Design Master, National First-Class Registered Architect. He is director of Tsinghua University - Architectural Design and Research Institute Joint Research Center for Collaborative Innovation and Intelligence of Architecture (JCCIIA)，and chief principle architect/chief scientist of the THAD, the professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Architecture. He also serves as vice president of the Architectural Society of China (ASC), Co-Director of the Professional Practice Commission of UIA (UIA-PPC). Prof. Zhuang has received the ASC Architectural Education Award (2012),the first prize of Science & Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education (2018).
Prof. Zhuang has been engaging in architectural design and its theoretical research. He pioneered the theory of architectural programming in China in the early 1990s, developed the design decision platform, and took the lead in practicing the whole process engineering consulting. He insists Holistic Approach in architectural practice, and established the theory of Post-Occupancy Evaluation in China.
