On December 15, the 2021 International Conference on Engineering Education was organized by China Engineering Education Accreditation Association (CEEAA). It was supported by the International Engineering Alliance (IEA), the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) and the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP), guided by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Department of International Affairs of China Association for Science and Technology. The meeting was held both online and offline.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. YUAN Si, Executive Director of ICEE, the Chair of the CEEAA Board of Supervisors, FAN Hailin, Vice Director of the MOE’s Department of Higher Education, WANG Qinglin, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Affairs of China Association for Science and Technology, Ir. Dr. Tan Yean Chin, Secretary General of FEIAP, Dr. Richard Kwok, President of The Institute of Engineers, Singapore, gave the keynote speeches reprehensively. The keynote speakers expressed that, in the context of the challenges posed by the global COVID-19 pandemic and global integration, it is urgent for engineering organizations around the world to work together and build a platform for free exchange of engineers worldwide. China actively initiated discussions on cutting-edge issues in the field of engineering education accreditation, and actively participated in international governance and reform of engineering education accreditation in the international scope while sparing no effort to deal with the pandemic.
Prof. Kai Sang Lock, Deputy Chair of Washington Accord, presided over the keynote speech section. Mr. Damien Owens, Chair of the IEA Governing Group, GONG Ke, President of WFEO, Elizabeth Taylor, Chair of the Washington Accord, CHEN Shiyi, Vice President of the CEEAA, LIM Khiang Wee, Chair of the Engineering Accreditation Board, Singapore, JIN Donghan, President of Tianjin University, combined engineering education practice and sustainable development concept to give keynote speeches respectively.

Several issues under discussion, such as SDGs and engineering education, GAPC evaluation related to SDGs, and based on the SDGs and the new version of GAPC framework standards and revision. GU Peihua, Director of the Academic Committee of CEEAA and Executive Director of Centre for Emerging Engineering Education Research and Application, Tianjin University, GONG Jinlong, Vice President of Tianjing University, CHEN Daoxu, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of CEEAA, WANG Sunyu, Deputy Director and Secretary General of ICEE and a member of the Academic Committee of CEEAA, and 25 member organizations of Washington Accords made online special addresses and discussions respectively.
International representatives from 36 countries and regions participated in the conference online
International engineering organizations from 36 countries and regions such as the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, Australia and more than 200 representatives attended the conference. More than 10,000 domestic and foreign experts and scholars in the field of engineering education accreditation, together with university representatives, watched the live streaming of the conference through the ChaoXing live streaming platform.
