On August 14, 2024, ZHONG Zhiwei, President of Huayue Education Group, along with his entourage, visited the International Centre for Engineering Education under the auspices of UNESCO (ICEE) and held a discussion. The meeting was attended by ZHONG Zhiwei, President of Huayue Education Group; ZHONG Peiqi, Vice President of Huayue Education Group; LUO Min, President of Yingde Huayue Academy of Arts; WANG Sunyu,  Deputy Director and Secretary General of ICEE; QIAO Weifeng, Associate Professor of Research; SHEN Ye, Assistant to Secretary General of ICEE; and LIU Binli, Head of the ICEE Base of Future Science and Technology Education.

President ZHONG Zhiwei and his entourage first visited the Institute of Education at Tsinghua University, where they joined the students  participating in summer practical training at the ICEE Base of Future Science and Technology Education. They attended a special lecture on international engineering education given by Dr. SHEN Ye. The lecture, titled “Exploration of Engineering Education from a Multi-Dimensional Perspective”, provided profound insights and inspiration for the students.

Afterward, they visited the ICEE office in the Main Building of Tsinghua University, where they were warmly welcomed by Professor WANG Sunyu. Professor WANG introduced ICEE by highlighting three key areas: consultation and research, high-level talent cultivation, and international exchange and cooperation. He expressed hope that ICEE and Huayue would actively cooperate in the filed of engineering talent cultivation, aiming  to train more engineering, scientific and technological talents with an international perspective  and professional skills.

Associate Professor of Research QIAO Weifeng noted that vocational education is a crucial pathway for training engineering, scientific, and technological talents. While siginificat  progress has been made in China, there are still shortcomings in industry-education integration. It is necessary to further strengthen  cooperation between university, enterprises, and industries.

President ZHONG Zhiwei expressed his gratitude to Professor WANG Sunyu. As a well-known education group in Guangdong Province, Huayue looks forward to in-depth cooperation with ICEE to jointly promote the innovation and development of engineering education and to cultivate more outstanding engineering, scientific and technological talents for the country and society. This visit laid a solid foundation for futre in-depth cooperation between the two sides in international engineering education and opened a new chapter for jointly promoting the innovation and development of engineering education.
