On May 26, 2026, the 3rd General Assembly of the China Engineering Education Accreditation Association (CEEAA) was held in Beijing. Xu Qingsen, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, Lin Huiqing, President of the Chinese Association of Higher Education, and Luo Hui, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the China Association for Science and Technology, attended the meeting. Professor Elizabeth Taylor, President of the International Engineering Alliance (IEA), delivered a video address.

Also in attendance were: Professor Kang Kejun, former Vice President of Tsinghua University and Chair of the CEEAA Nuclear Engineering Accreditation Committee; Professor Yuan Si, Executive Director of the UNESCO International Centre for Engineering Education (ICEE), Chair of the CEEAA 2nd Board of Supervisors, and former Vice President of Tsinghua University; Professor Wang Sunyu, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of ICEE, Standing Member of the CEEAA 2nd Board of Directors, and professor at the School of Education, Tsinghua University; and Qiao Weifeng, Assistant Secretary-General of ICEE and Associate Profeseer in Research at the School of Education, Tsinghua University.

Yuan Si Delivers Report

On behalf of the 2nd Board of Supervisors, Yuan Si presented the Work Report of the 2nd Board of Supervisors of the CEEAA to the assembly. The report provided a comprehensive summary of the significant achievements made over the past five years in deepening reform, ensuring quality, and advancing international cooperation in China's engineering education accreditation.The assembly reviewed and voted to approve the Work Report of the 2nd Board of Directors, the Financial Report, the Work Report of the Board of Supervisors, and the proposed amendments to the CEEAA Charter.

At the appointment and commendation ceremony held during the assembly, Professor Yuan Si, Professor Wang Sunyu, and several other distinguished experts were conferred the title of "Honorary Member" in recognition of their outstanding long-term contributions to China's engineering education accreditation.

The assembly elected the CEEAA's 3rd Board of Directors and Board of Supervisors. Zheng Qinghua, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji University, was elected Chair of the 3rd Board of Directors, while Associate Research Fellow Qiao Weifeng was elected as a member of the Board of Supervisors.

Nearly 200 representatives from the Ministry of Education, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, as well as industry associations, universities, and enterprises, attended the assembly.
