Melody Kirima is a Vehicle Engineering major at Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU). In 2020, she launched the first Hult Prize on-campus program at BJTU. She has worked with founders, investors, coaches, and entrepreneurs to mentor 150+ students on social entrepreneurship and innovation for impact. Melody is interested in the intersection between urban transport systems and economic development. As a Schwarzman Scholar, she hopes to deepen her understanding of China's governance, policy reforms, and innovations in public transport and better understand China's success in poverty eradication in preparation for a career in leading the transformation of transport systems for poverty eradication. Melody is from Kenya.
