Sreya Vangara studied electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science at MIT, and is currently a Schwarzman Scholar at Tsinghua University. Her research elevates underprivileged communities through global clean water collaborations with Madagascar and the Navajo Nation, as well as lower-cost nuclear reactor designs forged with Princeton University. Sreya also supports sustainable innovation through grassroots educational initiatives, and has taught STEM in Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Hong Kong. Sreya has advocated for collegiate disability rights as a co-director of the national non-profit Synapse, and spearheaded accessibility policy on MIT's campus. As a PhD candidate at Stanford University, Sreya will design small-scale, accessible nuclear fusion devices to ensure an equitable path towards universal clean energy. Sreya is from the United States.
