Chongqing Kang is Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University, President of Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute of Tsinghua University and President of Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute. He serves as Vice Chairman of Beijing Society of Electrical Engineering. He has been selected as IEEE Fellow and CSEE Fellow. He is the recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has been selected in National “Ten Thousand Talents Program”. He is appointed as a Visiting Professor at Imperial College London and an Adjunct Professor at Yonsei University in South Korea. His research interests mainly include power system planning, power system dispatch and operation, energy Internet, renewable energy, low-carbon power technology, load forecasting, and power market. He has been the Chief Scientist of 2 projects under National Key R&D Program of China. He has published more than 400 papers, including more than 100 papers published in IEEE Transaction journals. He was continuously selected as the Chinese Most Cited Researchers since 2017 by Elsevier. He has been honored with the Second Prize for National Teaching Achievement, Famous Teacher of Beijing, 2018 Award for Outstanding Contribution to China Electric Power Science and Technology, 2021 IEEE PES Roy Billinton Power System Reliability Award, and 2021 IET Achievement Medal.
