Zhenjiang SHEN is a Professor at the Division of Environmental Design of Kanazawa University, Japan. He is a fellow of the Engineering Academy of Japan, the president of the International Community for Spatial Planning and Sustainable Development (SPSD), a member of the Information Technology Committee of the Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ), and a member of the Academic Committee of the City Planning Institute of Japan (CPIJ). His research covers regional planning, urban and rural planning, and design research, involving smart city planning, planning support system, VR for space design, and smart construction and prefabricated buildings in human settlements. He has published 6 academic monographs and 300+ academic papers. He also presided over 16+ scientific research projects from the Japanese Ministry of Education and the Japan Association for Academic Promotion (JSPS), several large-scale international education projects, and won the 4th Regional Architectural Heritage Conservation Award of the International Union of Architects (2010), Japan Comprehensive Housing Research Award (2014), Japan Virtual Design World Cup Best Award (2015). He has participated in several large-scale international cooperation projects and has been invited to international conferences on the United Nations’ sustainable development.
