SHEN Zhongwei is the Dean of the School of Architecture of Southwest Jiaotong University,a Professor, and a Doctoral Supervisor. He serves as a Standing Director of the Architectural Society of China, Chairman of the Academic Committee on Underground Space of the Architectural Society of China, Vice Chairman of the Architectural Education Branch of the Architectural Society of China. Additionally, he is a member of both the National Higher Education Architectural Program Evaluation Committee and the Ministry of Education's Architectural Teaching Guidance Subcommittee. Dr. Shen receives special government allowances from the State Council, a Leading Talent in Science and Technology under the "Tianfu Qingcheng Plan," an academic and technical leader, an expert with outstanding contributions, and a distinguished teacher in educating and cultivating talents. He also holds the position of Chair Professor under the Chongqing “Bayu Scholar Program."
His research primarily focuses on transportation building, underground space planning and design, high-speed railway engineering landscape, intercity railway, and urban-rural planning. In the aspect of research projects, he has hosted 5 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published over 100 academic papers. As the first recipient, he won one Sichuan Province First- Class Scientific and Technological Progress Award, while having participated in winning a national- level Teaching Achievement Award. In terms of architecture design, he has handled projects such as the Lijiang Railway Station, the Mount Emei integrated transport hub, and the design of Chengdu East Station and Chengdu North Station.
