FENG Xiqiao is a Chang Jiang Chair Professor at Tsinghua University. He earned a Ph.D. degree from Tsinghua University in 1995. From 1997 to 1999, he worked as a Humboldt research fellow in Germany. He rejoined Tsinghua University as an associate professor in 1999 and was promoted to a professor in 2001. Currently, he serves as a vice president of Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, an editor-in-chief of Engineering Fracture Mechanics, and an executive member of International Council of Fracture. He also serves as an editorial/advisory board member of more than 10 other journals such as International Journal of Damage Mechanics, Applied Physics Letters, Journal of Applied Physics, and Acta Mechanica Sinica.
His interests include biomechanics and solid mechanics. He has co-authored five monographs and about 450 papers, which have received ~27000 citations. Selected Feng's honors include the National Prize of Science and Technology of China (2019), Award of Science and Technology for Young Scientists of China (2007), etc.
