Professor Li has authored over 220 articles and 17 book chapters. He is the associate editor of top MRI journals Magnetic Resonance Medicine and Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging. He is past president of the International Society for Magnetic resonance in Medicine. His researches and interests included magnetic resonance imaging, cardiovascular imaging, coronary artery disease, atherosclerosis and angiography. The overall objective of Dr. Li’s research program is the development and clinical application of 3D fast MR imaging techniques for the evaluation of the cardiovascular system. Special interests include MR imaging of coronary arteries and blood flow to the heart muscle, visualization of the artery wall for the detection and characterization of atherosclerotic plaque, and myocardial tissue characterization. Professor Li has served as the leader of international academic organizations, including the chairman of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), the chairman of the Society for Magnetic Resonance Angiography, the director of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR), and the director of the Overseas Chinese Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. He is the Fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, and Fellow of the International Academy of Medical and Bioengineering.
