Professor Dong’s research interests include theories and technologies in modern hepatobiliary surgery, liver transplantation and the management of complex biliary diseases. He was first worldwide to propose the concept of “Precision Surgery”, and has been endeavoring to establish the surgical paradigm and technological system of hepatobiliary surgery ever since. This concept has been widely adopted in Pancreatic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Spinal Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Interventional Radiology, etc., and has promoted the change of the practice of hepatobiliary surgery worldwide. He published more than 160 SCI papers as the first author or corresponding author, presided over the formulation of 15 guidelines and published 6 books. He presided over more than 20 projects such as the National Sci-Tech Support Plan; won 1 Second Prize of State Scientific and Technological Progress Award and 3 provincial and ministerial first prizes as the first winner, and 1 first prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award as the co-winner. In view of his leading contribution to the development of contemporary surgery, the French National Academy of Surgery, the American Surgical Association and the European Surgical Association awarded him a foreign fellow or honorary fellow at the same time. Professor Jiahong Dong founded and practiced the concept of precision medicine, lean management and sincere service, and established a modern hospital management system with distinctive characteristics in Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital.
