He is currently the executive vice president and member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Beihang University (Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics). Professor Jiancheng Fang has long been engaged in the research of spacecraft attitude control using magnetic inertial actuators and inertial navigation technology. He has presided over more than 20 national (defense) major and key projects and achieved a number of important innovations. He has won 1 First Prize and Second Prize of State Technological Invention Award (both ranked 1st), 1 Second Prize of State Scientific and Technological Progress Award (ranked 1st), and 1 gold award of China Patent Gold Award (ranked 1st). The scientific research team led by him was approved as the "New Inertial Instrument and System Technology" Innovation Team of Changjiang Scholars by the Ministry of Education in 2008, and was approved as the "Advanced Inertial Instrument and System Technology" National Natural Science Foundation of China Innovation Research Group in 2011, and funding was extended twice.
