Li Zhen, born in April 1969, is a professor and doctoral supervisor. He also serves as the Deputy Director of the Folk Dwelling Committee of the Chinese Architectural Society; a member of the Expert Committee on Traditional Dwellings of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development; the Deputy Director of the Academic Committee on Traditional Dwellings of the Chinese National Architectural Research Society; an executive member and the Deputy Director of the Youth Work Committee of the Architectural History Branch of the Chinese Architectural Society; a member of the Academic Committee on Built Heritage of the Chinese Architectural Society; the Vice President of the Shanghai Folk Culture Society; and a member of the Historical Building Conservation Committee of the Shanghai Architectural Society.He is also on the editorial board of “Architectural Heritage” and “Journal of Architectural History”, among others.
In the academic realm, Professor Li Zhen has been engaged in research on the history of ancient Chinese architectural technology for a long time, having published more than 100 academic papers. He has led and completed five general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has participated in a key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and was responsible for a sub-project. He participated in a major project of the National “Eleventh Five-Year” Science and Technology Support Plan and was responsible for three sub-projects. He has also led and completed dozens of provincial and municipal scientific research projects.
