On January 26, 2024, ICEE Base of Future Science and Technology Education held the Jiyu EDU Future Technology non-profit winter camp themed “Smart Teenagers Chasing Technological Dreams” in Nanjing City, China. This event was jointly hosted by Beijing Utech Future Smart Technology Co., Ltd. (Utech Future) and Jiyu EDU Future Robot Science Popularization and Education Base, under the academic guidance of UNESCO International Centre for Engineering Education (ICEE). It aimed for science popularization and education on future technology among teenagers by means of engaging practical projects, challenging activities and a wide range of cutting-edge technologies.

The event focused on comprehensive scientific and technological exploration themes such as robots, artificial intelligence and integrated circuits. It incorporated multiple teaching modes, including visits to science and education venues, technology lectures, scientific exploration classes and science popularization workshops. The participants had the opportunity to attend RoboMaster-themed lectures, engage in group battles and participate in robot combat experiential activities, so as to gain in-depth knowledge of the technological applications involved in the RoboMaster Robotics Competition and experience the charm of robot combats in person. They had a direct understanding of advanced aerospace technologies and the vast expanse of the galaxy by learning drone programming, participating in drone maze challenges and First Person View (FPV) flight challenges, attending lectures on planets and aerospace, as well as taking part in astronomy and stargazing activities.

The Winter Camp Activity

The event attracted 123 teenagers from primary schools across China. It has inspired their scientific thinking, enhanced their technological awareness, fostered their innovative capabilities, and strengthened their sense of responsibility and global perspective in addressing global challenges through technological innovation. Going forward, ICEE will continue to promote the cultivation of engineering talents and the innovative development of engineering science and technology.
