Dr. LIU Qin, Senior Research Associate of the Institute for Studies in Transdisciplinary Engineering Education and Practice (ISTEP) at theFaculty of Applied Science and Engineering at University of Toronto was invited to give a keynote presentation. Prof. WANG Sunyu, Institute of Education at Tsinghua University, Deputy Director and Secretary General of ICEEattended the event. Dr. XU Lihui, Assistant Secretary-General of ICEE chaired the academic event.
Prof. WANG Sunyu extended a warm welcome to Dr. LIU Qin and pointed out that ICEE has in-depth exchanges with the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, University of Toronto, and ISTEP, and shares common goals with the two organizations in the field of international engineering education. He hoped that this event could provide an opportunity for the two sides to actively explore cooperation and strengthen academic exchanges and mutual learning in the future, to jointly promote the development of engineering education research and the training of future engineers.
Dr. LIU began her presentation by introducing her academic and professional career and then proceeded to introduce the methods and processes of engineering education research. She noted that engineering education research is an interdisciplinary endeavor that involves systematic thinking, design thinking, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.
