On March 20, 2024, a delegation led by Ai Sugiura, Programme Specialist for Natural Sciences of UNESCO Beijing Office, visited ICEE’s global partner XuetangX. QIAO Weifeng, an associate professor of research of ICEE, XU Lihui, Assistant to Secretary-General of ICEE, ZHANG Dexia, Marketing Director of XuetangX and ZHU Xiaodong, Product Manager of XuetangX attended the meeting and had a discussion. 

The personnel from XuetangX introduced to the delegation the work XuetangX has done in support of UNESCO, and demonstrated intelligent teaching platforms such as the MOOC platform, Rain Classroom, and Teaching Command Center. 

Ai Sugiura introduced UNESCO's projects on water resources, geoparks, and climate action, as well as UNESCO's online education platforms. The two sides exchanged views on future cooperation on courses, platforms and global integrated classrooms. 

XuetangX is ICEE's first global partner and online education platform. It is the first Chinese MOOC platform initiated and established by Tsinghua University in October 2013, and the platform of the Ministry of Education (MOE) Research Center for Online Education (RCOE), and it’s for communication and the application of research in the field of online education. Launched globally in April 2020, XuetangX International Version is the first batch of international online platform for colleges and universities launched by the MOE, and has been selected as the UNESCO Distance Learning Solutions, UNESCO Global Education Coalition and BRICS online learning platform.
